Prime Minister Ana Brnabic met today with members of the Working Group for Drafting a Media Strategy and representatives of media and journalism associations.
The Working Group for the Development of the Public Information System Development Strategy in the Republic of Serbia, whose mandate was renewed for a period of one month, completed the work on harmonising the open issues in that document and submitted it to the Government of Serbia on 23 October.
The members of the group informed the Prime Minister that they also considered the recommendations and comments on the Draft Strategy prepared by the European Commission expert from Brussels, Dr Francesco Shakitano.
According to the agreement, a new Draft Strategy and a report related to the comments of Shakitan0 will be submitted for opinion to the European Commission, and upon receipt of the opinion, the procedure for the adoption of the document is expected to be completed.
Prime Minister Ana Brnabic thanked members of the Working Group for their constructive work over the past month to bring the document in line with the agreement and stressed that this was another confirmation that the process of adopting the strategy was inclusive and transparent.
She also thanked representatives of international organisations and partners, who actively supported the entire process of strategy adoption.
The meeting was attended by Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway to Serbia Arne Sannes Bjørnstad, Deputy Head of the OSCE Mission to Serbia Joseph Mellott and Deputy Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia Mateja Norčič Štamcar.
