Ljajic said after a meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation between Serbia and Azerbaijan that the aim of the two governments is to raise economic relations to a higher level.
The Deputy Prime Minister pointed out that Serbia and Azerbaijan have no outstanding political issues, adding that the relations are at the level of strategic partnership.
He pointed out that Serbia and Azerbaijan have signed 20 bilateral agreements that are the basis for strengthening cooperation in various fields, adding that all political and legal prerequisites for economic relations to be upped at the highest level have been made.
Ljajic said that there are all prerequisites for enhancing cooperation in the fields of tourism, health care, pharmaceutical industry, culture, education and sports.
The Deputy Prime Minister announced a business forum of Azerbaijan and Serbia by end-year, which will bring together representatives of the business communities of the two countries.
He invited investors from Azerbaijan to invest in Serbian economy, as well as to participate in the privatisation process in Serbia.
He pointed out that thanks to a favourable loan of Azerbaijan, a section of Corridor 11, from Ljig to Preljina, is financed.
Minister of Economic Development of Azerbaijan Shahin Mustafayev said that political relations between the two countries develop upwards, and there is mutual support in terms of sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Ljajic and Mustafyev, who are also co-chair of the of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation between Serbia and Azerbaijan, signed a protocol of the session.
