State to continue to advance Serbia’s wine sector

Belgrade/Verona, 14 April 2026

Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Professor Dragan Glamočić, PhD, stated today, during a visit to the Wine Vision by Open Balkan pavilion at the Vinitaly international fair in Verona, that Serbia has become a relevant factor on Europe’s wine map.

Glamočić said that the interest of fair visitors in Serbian wines is enormous.

According to him, the Serbian wine sector is currently on a steep rise, which is confirmed by the growth in production and the increasing number of registered wineries and vineyards, all thanks to the state’s strong support for this sector.

We have provided significant incentives for winegrowers, the Minister pointed out, adding that IPARD funds, as well as favourable loans, are also available to producers.

Glamočić said that the state will continue to fight for new export arrangements and to advance the Serbian wine sector, noting that significant funds are also being allocated for domestic producers of spirits.

The Wine Vision by Open Balkan pavilion was also visited by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Italy Edmondo Cirielli as well as Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia David Songulashvili.
