The talks with the IMF Mission began in Belgrade on 26 February at the level of technical experts and today's official discussions will open with a plenary session at the National Bank of Serbia (NBS).
Minister of Finance Lazar Krstic announced the possibility of talks on the new three-year arrangement and last week, he said that the new arrangement will be realised by the new Serbian government.
By then the outgoing government should carry out all the preparations so that the new government, after the elections, could make a decision and conclude a new agreement with the IMF.
Serbia needs a new arrangement with the IMF in order to implement its economic strategy for the next three years, the Finance Minister said.
