Speaking at the Office’s annual press conference held at the Serbian government, Vukmirovic said that observed by activities, the largest growth was recorded in agriculture, forestry and fishing, electricity, gas and steam supply, and the manufacturing industry.
On the other hand, a drop was recorded in construction, other service activities, wholesale and retail trade and repair of motor vehicles, while industrial production recorded a growth of physical volume of 6,3%.
The Director of the Office underlined that the unemployment rate in Serbia in October this year stood at 20.1%, which is a drop in relation to April when it stood at 24.1%.
The employment rate, which is the percentage of the employed in the total population aged 15 and over, stood at 39.1% in October, which is by 2.8 percentage points more in relation to April, Vukmirovic explained.
Head of the Household Research Department Vladan Bozanic pointed out that the growth of economic activity in this year has brought about an increase in employment and decrease in unemployment.
Bozanic said that the real growth of GDP in the third quarter of this year, in relation to the same period of 2012, was 3.7%.
The foreign trade deficit of Serbia in the first 11 months of this year amounted to approximately $5.25 billion, which is by 24.2% less than in the same period last year, while the export-import ratio stood at 71.9% and is larger than in the same period last year, when it stood at 58.6%, he underlined.
