Speaking at the Serbian Investment Conference in Moscow, organised by the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Russia with the support of Sberbank, Bacevic said that Russia, although one of the greatest friends of our country, has been one of the last that entered the Serbian market.
He noted that for now NIS Gazprom is the best performer and voiced hope that other Russian companies, following in its footsteps, will come to the Serbian market.
The Russian Sberbank and Lukoil also do business in Serbia, but there is space for more, and the opportunities should be sought in the sectors of non-ferrous metallurgy, geology, road engineering, agriculture, tourism and technologies, the Minister stated.
On the other hand, Serbian companies should also be provided with a free market in Russia to a greater extent than is currently the case, Bacevic noted.
He reiterated that Russia is one of the largest economic partners of Serbia and the establishment of strategic partnership in May this year set the firmest foundation stone for political and economic cooperation.
The Minister said that he honestly believes that today’s investment conference will become traditional and that it will result in many agreements and contracts.
Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic also addressed the participants in the conference who called on Russian investors to come to Serbia, which is an increasingly attractive investment destination and where they can count on a stable economic environment.
Come to Serbia. May our friendship and my word be a guarantee for your safe business in our country. On our part we will do everything so that you feel good in Serbia and that your investments be safe and successful, Nikolic said opening the Serbian Investment Conference in Moscow.
Other speakers at the conference will be President of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce Zeljko Sertic and President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Russia Sergey Katyrin, Deputy CEO of Nis Gazprom Neft Evgeny Kudinov and President of the Executive Board of Sberbank Serbia Valeriy Ovsyannikov.
The signing of a letter of intent between the company Majevica holding from Backa Palanka and TESE from Voronezh is planned, and of a contract on joint investment and cooperation between Spektar from Cacak and Metromed from Omsk.
The Serbian delegation will present 75 projects of Serbian companies, institutions and local self-government, worth approximately €7 billion.
