Assistant Minister of Energy, Development and Environmental Protection Petar Stanojevic said today that the ministry over the past year and a half worked hard to create the conditions for raising the energy stability of Serbia.

Stanojevic said at the opening of the 5th Oil Forum of the Energy Community that the Law on the efficient use of energy has been adopted, while amendment to the Energy Law are being prepared.
He also said that Serbia has an open gas market and is working to open the electricity market.
Head of the Department for European Integration of the EU Delegation in Serbia Freek Janmaat said that a new phase of EU’s screening in the energy sector will begin next year in April.
He expressed the belief that it will help speed up Serbia's EU integration.
According to him, the EU offers a concrete methodology to adapt EU legislation and its implementation.
The two-day Oil Forum of the Energy Community is held in Belgrade and has gathered representatives of local institutions and EU experts in the field of energy.
