Bilateral efforts, initiatives aimed at better cooperation between Serbia, Belarus

Minister of Regional Development and Local Self-Government Igor Mirovic said today in Minsk after the signing of the Protocol of the Intergovernmental committee on trade and economic cooperation between Serbia and Belarus that there are great opportunities for the development of economic and trade relations between the two countries, and that mutual commitment and operational initiatives of both sides can be expected.
Mirovic said that over the next three to four years, trade volume is expected to reach $ 500 million.
He explained that the protocol includes new mechanisms that have been reached in recent months, that will contribute to a more intensive cooperation between companies in agriculture and pharmaceutical production, and will enable joint performance of our construction companies in third markets.
An action plan that includes specific timelines and plans regarding the association of specific companies was also signed, the Minister of Regional Development and Local Self-Government said, noting that there is a great interest of Belarus companies in investment and production with Serbian companies.
This primarily refers to Prva Petoletka from Trstenik, 14 Oktobar from Krusevac , Kraljevo wagon factory, said Mirovic.
Mirovic added that at the meeting also touched on the promotion of cooperation in the fields of culture, science and other fields.
The Minister of Regional Development and Local Self-Government is on a two-day visit to Belarus, heading the Serbian delegation of more than 20 Serbian companies from the machinery, metal processing , energy, chemical and agri-food sectors.
