Minister of Finance and Economy Mladjan Dinkic and Minister of Finance of Montenegro Radoje Zugic spoke today in Becici on the current economic situation and the challenges faced by governments of the two countries regarding the balancing of public finances and reducing the deficit and national debt.
The Ministry of Finance and Economy said that the Dinkic and Zugic met at the
summit of finance ministers and governors of the region in Becici, which is organised by NIN and sponsored by the Ministry of Finance.
During the meeting they exchanged experiences with regard to measures of fiscal adjustment which, in order to strengthen fiscal and financial stability, are implemented in both countries.
In terms of economic relations between Serbia and Montenegro, the ministers agreed that there is room for strengthening economic cooperation, especially in the sectors of tourism, trade and transport.
During the meeting they also discussed the possibilities of cooperation between Serbia and Montenegro on the reconstruction of the railway Belgrade-Bar.
The summit in addition to the governor and the finance ministers from the region has gathered a large number of representatives of leading banks and companies in the region, the statement added.
