Polish companies willing to invest in Serbian economy

Minister of Regional Development and Local Self-Government Verica Kalanovic opened her during the working visit to Poland the first Serbian-Polish business forum in Katowice, the capital of the Polish business, which was attended by more than 130 companies from Serbia and Poland.

Speaking on the occasion, she sent a message that the Serbian-Polish cooperation is ahead of significantly better days, noting that this forum is not just protocolary, he already had concrete results and surpassed expectations, thus contributing to a better and more intensive cooperation between Serbian and Polish companies.
Already today we have concrete results. Nitroerg from Poland has completely defined the contract relating the plant of commercial explosives in Boljevac, one of the least developed municipalities in Serbia.
The contract which will initially mean 100 new jobs, which would later increase, said the Minister.
She also said that detailed discussions on potential strategic partners on the privatisation of two Serbian factories in restructuring are pending.
We are one step away from finding a strategic partner for Budimka in Pozega, as well as for the cutting tools factory in Cacak, where the most important thing will be to solve the employment issue of approximately 700 people who now work in the two factories, said Kalanovic.
The Minister also met with the Duke of Silesia, the first man in the region of Silesia, which is one of the most developed industrial and economic and natural resources and among the richest regions in Poland.
The Duke of Silesia, who hosted the forum, said that the Polish economy is showing interest in investing in Serbia because the Serbian market is conducive to investment, which in particular contributed by the favourable tax system.
Kalanovic will also meet with Polish Minister of Regional Development Elzbieta Bienkovska.
