Cooperation in energy, construction with Iraq

Minister without Portfolio Sulejman Ugljanin attended last night a meeting of representatives of Serbian companies and the Commission for Investment of the southern Iraqi province of Misan.
Ugljanin, who heads the Serbian business delegation to Iraq, said that the aim of the visit is to connect businesspeople and find common economic interests, as well as to continue cooperation that the two countries had in years back.
Businessmen from Serbia presented their opportunities for jobs in Misan, especially in the fields of energy, construction, agriculture, education and medicine, and they inquired about the tender conditions.
Ugljanin said he is satisfied with the possibilities of cooperation discussed in these meetings.
Members of the Commission for Investment of the southern Iraqi province of Misan presented their investment plans.
Conditions for investment in Misan are favourable with respect to the legal procedure and incentives, and interested Serbian businessmen will have the full support of the province’s leadership.
The Iraqis expressed interest in cooperating with companies from Serbia on the project of transformation of the old military into a civilian airport, reads a statement.
