Speaking at the Kopaonik Business Forum 2013, Dinkic said that the auto industry is a major export trump card of Serbia, and announced the arrival of another car manufacturer to Serbia in the event of reaching agreement on duty free exports of cars on the Russian market.
He said that this year Fiat Automobiles Serbia is expected to export between 110,000 and 160,000 cars, noting that this will significantly depend on how the US market will embrace a new car model in Kragujevac.
The Minister reiterated that the Serbian government is ready to provide incentives for the four industrial sectors – automotive, IT sector, agriculture and defence.
According to him, the stimuli received by Fiat for the production in Kragujevac will be provided also by the investors from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), who will invest in Serbia's agriculture, especially in irrigation canals.
Dinkic noted that the defence industry can boost export growth because it involves a large number of factories, but added that investment in research and development company in the field is necessary.
Also, he said that he will discuss with the representatives of the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) and commercial banks how to ensure better liquidity of the economy and more favourable interest rates on loans.
The Minister said that the interest on state bonds was significantly decreased, which should be reflected in the reduction of interest on loans given by banks to the economy.
The government is ready to help private companies that have business problems, but such initiative should come from these companies, not from the government, said the Minister.
Dinkic said that this year will be better than the last, and added that he expects a GDP growth of 2.5%.
