Obradovic said at a press conference held after the meeting of the council that the essence of the law on the establishment of the maximum wages in the public sector is to limit the earnings of those who have the highest salaries, and to prevent those with the lowest wages from being affected in any way.
Prime Minister Ivica Dacic requested from the relevant ministry at the government session before the last one to prepare a proposal on how to resolve this issue.
Chairman of the Social and Economic Council Nebojsa Atanackovic noted that large differences in salaries, not only in terms of the highest, but also average ones that are paid out from the state budget and to employees in public enterprises, should be brought into line with what the state and the economy can offer.
