Speaking at a Business Forum of Serbian and Indonesian businesspeople held at the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, Knezevic said that the trade involves a rather small assortment of goods, mostly agricultural food products, as well as a deficit on the Serbian side.
The Minister underlined that the economies of the two states are compatible in all sectors and that Indonesia can be the springboard for Serbian businesspeople to gain access to other countries in south-east Asia.
On the other hand, Serbia has advantages such as the free trade agreements with CETFA countries, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Turkey, along with the Interim Trade Agreement with the EU, Knezevic noted.
The Minister announced that the Serbian government’s policy will also include the establishment of cooperation with non-EU members.
President of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce Milos Bugarin said he is impressed by the economic growth and development of Indonesia, adding that Serbia would like to be partners with this country.
Bugarin voiced his expectation that their cooperation will be expanded to investments, concession and other forms of business life.
As part of the two-day visit of the Indonesian state and business delegation to Serbia, a Business Forum is taking place at the Serbian Chamber of Commerce today which will include a number of bilateral meetings between business people.
