Prices of goods, services up 1.4%

The Serbian Statistics Office stated today that retail prices of goods and services in May 2012 on average rose by 1.4% against the previous month.
Compared to May 2011, prices went up by 3.9%, while in relation to December 2011 they rose by 4.1%.
The largest price increase was recorded in the following groups of products: food and non-alcoholic beverages 3.2%, furniture, home appliances and current maintenance 1%, restaurants and hotels 0.8%, recreation and culture 0.4%, alcoholic drinks and tobacco 0.3%, while a drop was recorded in transportation services (0.2%).
The prices of other products and services did not change significantly, reads the statement.
