Observed by activities, the greatest growth of gross value added was noted in the following sections: electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, construction and mining and quarrying.
The largest fall of gross value added was noted in trade and administrative and support service activities.
Industrial production in 2011 noted a physical volume growth of 1.8%, which was mostly influenced by the section of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply and mining and quarrying.
It was estimated that agricultural production in 2011 increased by 0.8% and the value of performed construction works noted an increase of 17.7%.
Retail trade turnover decreased by 17.6%, while wholesale trade noted a growth.
In the section of accommodation and food service activities in 2011, an increase of 1.5% was recorded, while the number of nights spent in hotels and similar establishments increased by 4.2%.
The section of transportation and storage noted an 8.1% increase of the physical volume, and so did the telecommunications activities – 15.6%.
The number of employees in 2011 decreased by 2.8% relative to the previous year. The number of employed men decreased by 4.6% and of employed women by 0.5%.
Net salaries and wages in 2011, compared to 2010, noted an increase of 11.3% in nominal terms and 0.3% in real terms.
The estimation shows that the annual inflation rate will amount to 7.0%, the statement adds.
