The Serbian Office of Statistics announced today that the real growth of gross domestic product (GDP) in the third quarter of 2011, compared to the same period last year, stood at 0.5%.
Divided by activities, the highest growth in gross value added in the third quarter of the year was recorded in the sector of information and communications (9.3%), construction (9.2%) and traffic (2.4%).
The biggest drop was recorded in the retail sector (7.7%) and the manufacturing industry (1.6%), adding that the value of seasonally adjusted quarterly gross domestic product in the third quarter of 2011 remained at the level of the previous quarter.
