Following the signing, Kalanovic announced that the factory will hire 411 workers and will open in mid-2012 in one of the former production halls of Yumco.
The factory will span over 30,000 square metres, and €13.45 million will be invested in reconstruction and equipment, Kalanovic specified.
She said that the Programme of support to direct investment for the factory projected incentives of €5,000 for each new job.
Kalanovic voiced her belief that the factory will operate successfully because there are enough qualified workers registered with the local National Employment Office.
De Marchi explained that his company did not chose Vranje accidentally, recalling that this will be the third but not the largest investment of Ditre Italia in Serbia.
We have come here because after all that we have seen in Vranje and after a small-scale test production we believe that considerable amounts of leather furniture produced in this town will be sold in Europe, De Marchi observed.
Mayor Stojcic said that this factory will be the largest business deal in Vranje in 2012, from which this town will greatly benefit.
We will find jobs for 411 workers, start reconstructing the former Yumco hall and engage our companies to conduct the necessary works in the factory. This shows that the investors have confidence in us, the Mayor concluded.
