At the Second European, legal and political forum "New legal framework for public-private partnership (PPP), concessions and public procurement, opportunities and risks", he explained that fiscal decentralisation will allow local governments greater autonomy in economic terms.
He pointed out that new investments are necessary for the construction and reconstruction of communal infrastructure, as well as for the improvement of quality of life, noting that the mentioned law will enable this.
Ciric explained that the purpose of the law is to implement projects that are waiting for a long time and to include companies from abroad that will bring technical knowledge and expertise.
He said that Austrian companies are interested in investing in Serbia on the basis of public-private partnership, especially in the field of the recycling of communal waste.
Deputy Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia Adriano Martins said that this bill has been harmonised with European norms and that this solution should increase efficiency and quality of services and reduce costs.
Martins underlined that the field of concessions, public-private partnership and public procurement is susceptible to corruption and that is why a clear framework for prevention of abuse of office is necessary.
