Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic tonight stated that the IMF Executive Board has approved the new precautionary arrangement with Serbia, which will put €1 billion at Serbia’s disposal in case of a large economic crisis.

Cvetkovic told the press at the Serbian Parliament that this is a result of successful talks between the representatives of Serbia and the IMF, voicing his hope that Serbia will not need these funds after all.
He observed that the arrangement is important and that it affirms that the state is leading a valid economic policy, adding that this will have positive effects on prospective foreign investors.
