The two ministers agreed that, despite difficulties in the financial sector, the Italian investments in Serbia are not brought into question.
Ciric thanked Romani for coming to Belgrade to discuss the improvement of cooperation despite the difficult economic situation in Italy.
Italy is the second trade partner of Serbia, after Germany, but it is also the first export destination for our companies, Ciric said.
The Minister of Economy and Regional Development said that Italy is among the top six investors in Serbia, where 250 Italian companies, banks and insurance companies employing over 18,000 workers operate.
Romani said that during his talks in Belgrade he discussed Italian investments in the textile, energy, machinery and the automotive sector in Serbia.
He also said that Italian companies are interested in taking part in building the metro in Belgrade.
Romani also invited Ciric to visit Rome in November and take part in the Business and Economic Council of the two countries.
