3.4% GDP growth in first quarter of 2011

The Serbian Statistics Office stated that in the first quarter of 2011 the real growth of GDP stood at 3.4% compared to the same period last year.
The statement adds that the highest gross added value (GAV) growth in the first quarter was recorded in the transportation sector (9.8%), followed by the supply of electricity, gas and water steam (7.5%), processing industry (6.2%) and financial and insurance activities (6.2%), while the largest GAV drop was recorded in the construction sector (2.9%).
