Milosavljevic said on the occasion that the Serbian government’s aim is to invest in the health system to return dignity to employees in health establishments and patients. He recalled that the clinic has been renovated with funds from the Serbian government’s budget worth RSD 34 million, intended for construction works and equipment.
The new space created by reconstruction has allowed psychiatric patients to be separated from those with neurological problems for the first time in the history of this clinic. This applies to the in-patient section as well as the emergency centre.
Similarly, it is also now possible to separate very young patients, including newly-born babies from the rest of the patients, and to provide them with complete hygienic and other care.
Three new waiting rooms have also been added, for babies, patients with psychiatric disorders and those awaiting functional diagnostics.
Director of the Clinic of Neurology and Psychiatry Slobodanka Todorovic said that the clinic has been brought into a decent condition owing to the help of the Serbian government, the City of Belgrade and many other donors, including satisfied parents whose children received treatment there.
According to Todorovic, the Ministry of Health invested RSD 33 million in construction, and RSD 1 million for acquiring equipment, while the Belgrade City Secretariat for Health Care invested RSD 4 million.
Todorovic pointed to the fact that more work is needed for renovating the clinic because an additional space of some 400 square metres is still required, the park in the proximity of the clinic should be improved, and new equipment must be purchased.
