Serbia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Đurić stated, following a meeting with Brazil’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Mauro Vieira, that the two countries had reaffirmed a high degree of agreement on numerous international issues, their commitment to further advancing overall bilateral relations and their mutual support on matters of national importance.

Đurić assessed that Brazil has become one of the leaders in addressing global issues and a strong advocate of multilateralism, the principles of the United Nations Charter and universal values, which is fully complementary to Serbia’s foreign policy priorities.
The Minister expressed gratitude to Brazil for its consistent support for Serbia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, as well as its support within international organisations, adding that Serbia will continue to support Brazil in the same manner on all issues of importance.
He noted that Serbia and Brazil are committed to further enriching their traditional friendship through economic, political, cultural and all other forms of cooperation, as well as to expanding their contractual framework in order to encourage greater investment and economic cooperation.
Đurić pointed out that he had also discussed with the head of Brazilian diplomacy the enhancement of scientific, educational and cultural cooperation, increased student exchanges and stronger cooperation in the field of aviation.
The head of Brazilian diplomacy emphasised that Serbia and Brazil are bound by a long-standing friendship, adding that economic cooperation between the two countries has significant potential for further development.
