Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Đurić said today that Serbia aims to be among the leaders in the responsible development of artificial intelligence, drawing on knowledge, innovation, scientific diplomacy and international cooperation.
Closing the first international conference AIability 2026: Connecting Academia, Industry, Policymakers and Generation Z, Đurić pointed out that Serbia recognised the importance of the new technological revolution at an early stage.
He noted that rapid technological development simultaneously raises numerous ethical, legal and societal issues, making dialogue and international cooperation essential to ensure that new technologies remain in the service of humanity.
Đurić also recalled that, by establishing the Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution in partnership with the World Economic Forum, Serbia demonstrated its readiness to contribute actively to global discussions on the responsible development of new technologies.
The Minister emphasised that scientific diplomacy is one of the strategic instruments of Serbian foreign policy.
The two-day conference brought together leading Serbian and international experts in the fields of artificial intelligence, higher education, scientific diplomacy, industry and public administration.
Đurić announced that the AIability conference, organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will become a regular annual event.
