Addressing employees at the Institute for Neurosurgery, Milosavljevic said that the building of the institute will be completely renovated by the end of the year, and by November 2009 the reconstruction of clinical centers in Belgrade, Kragujevac, Nis and Novi Sad will be finished.
According to Milosavljevic, negotiations with the European Investment Bank on renovating clinical centers in Serbia are underway, while half of the funds for the reconstruction will be provided from the National Investment Plan.
Serbia must have a project for its health system and realise it, and that implies improvement of elementary health care and the introduction of centralised diagnostics, explained the Minister.
Director of the Institute for Neurosurgery Miodrag Rakic pointed to the fact that the surgical microscope “Pentero” which has been put into operation is of enormous importance to the institute as it allows neuronavigation of highest technological standards in neurosurgery.
Rakic recalled that the microscope has been put into operation on the day marking the 68th year of the institute, and expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Health for the donation.
