The Minister stressed that the team's success is a proof that Serbia belongs in the category of the most successful judo teams worldwide.
He said that judo is undoubtedly an attractive sport which a lot of young people in Serbia take up, adding that this triumph will stimulate younger generations to work hard and achieve even more significant results.
Vuksanovic said that the "bronze team" will be awarded with €100,000 adding that the championship was organised at a high level as expected and that it served as an excellent promotion of judo in Serbia.
President of the Serbian Judo Association Stanisa Trujic said that the team championship was a sort of rehearsal for the upcoming European senior singles championship to be held in Belgrade next year.
Judging by the praise we received for having organised such a good championship, we are convinced we will meet all expectations at upcoming competitions as well, said Trujic.
Selector of the female team Veselin Novakovic and team captain Radmila Perisic agreed that the championship went very well and announced new successes at international level.
