65th anniversary of Kragujevac massacre observed

Today the 65th anniversary of the 1941 mass murder of Kragujevac citizens was observed in the Memorial Park located in Sumarice, near the monument “Peto Tri” and the grave-mound of more than 7,000 executed citizens.

In honour of the memory of those who were murdered wreaths were laid by Serbian Parliament Speaker Predrag Markovic, a delegation of the Serbian Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Army General Staff, the Serbian Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Policy, as well as families of those executed and members of non-governmental organisations for cherishing the tradition of wars of freedom.
Wreaths were laid also by representatives of the City of Kragujevac, the First Gymnasium School in Belgrade, Brazilian Ambassador in Belgrade Coelho De Lima, writer and director of the “Sveslavenski Fund” for literacy and culture Slavica Savicka, and the delegation representing cities from abroad, and from sister-cities – Ingolstadt in Germany, Suresnes in France and Mostar.
