Minister of Finance Mladjan Dinkic on visit to Vlasotince

In a meeting with representatives of the 13 municipalities, Dinkic said that in 2007 Serbia will substantially increase funding of its south, on condition that developmental projects of the Republic and local authorities are better coordinated and selected.
The Minister announced that the Coordinating Body for municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja will receive €12 million, or twice as much as this year.
Co-financing of joint projects in these three municipalities will also be increased in cooperation with international financial organisations, he announced.
Dinkic said that at least €40 million from the National Investment Plan will be invested in the development of the districts of Jablanica and Pcinj.
The south of Serbia is underdeveloped, which is why this region needs more investments in order to secure a more balanced regional development, he said.
The meeting was also be attended by president of the Serbian Coordinating Body for Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja Rasim Ljajic and head of the Economic team for Kosovo-Metohija Nenad Popovic, when the Statute for the development of the districts of Jablanica and Pcinj was signed.
After the meeting with municipalities’ representatives, Dinkic visited a sport hall in Vlasotince whose reconstruction works are financed from the National Investment Plan. He also opened a reservoir of drinking water and a pipeline.
The Minister said that the Serbian government has set aside 23 million dinars for the construction of a water station in Vlasotince, while according to the National Investment Plant, a total of €300,000 should be set aside for that purpose.
According to Dinkic, €550,000 will be set aside for local roads, €210,000 for village roads, €400,000 for reconstruction of the community health centre and approximately €100,000 for social care.
During his visit to Vlasotince, Dinkic marked the beginning of works on the construction of a road leading from Ladovica to Glozane.
Speaking at a press conference occasioned by his visit to Leskovac, Dinkic said that after six years, construction works on the post office near the railway station have resumed. The state set aside 55 million dinars for that purpose.
Similarly, he said, today the construction site for a sewer system was opened in the suburban residential area Ancika and a sum of 17 million dinars was allocated for the purpose, and work in the upcoming period will be continued in the neighbouring community of Bobiste.
Dinkic stressed that it is necessary to finish projects and other documentation as soon as possible to provide a water supply, sewer system and other infrastructure to various parts of this city.
The Serbian Minister of Finance handed over a cheque worth 14 million dinars in the national theatre of Leskovac for the reconstruction of the theatre roof, he then visited Vucje to see the reconstruction work being done in the local post office.
Dinkic said on the occasion that new investments will be made in the municipality of Leskovac and throughout southern Serbia because the economic development of this whole region is less than satisfactory.
