The new facilities spanning 4,800 square metres, will include a pathology ward, an emergency service, a maternity ward, a sterilisation department, surgery halls with intensive care, a coronary unit and a room with technical devices.
The construction of the ward is the first phase of the restructuring project of the Vranje health centre, which is to be transformed into one whole instead of 23 organisational units located in 13 buildings.
The restructuring of the Vranje hospital is part of the Ministry of Health's project called "Serbian Health Sector Development " financed from the World Bank’s loan. Hospitals in Vranje, Valjevo, Kraljevo and Zrenjanin will become a model for general hospitals in Serbia.
