State Secretary in the Serbian Ministry for Diaspora Aleksandar Cotric invited Serbian citizens living abroad to support the new Serbian Constitution, by casting their ballots in a referendum either in the countries where they live or in their respective municipalities in Serbia.

Cotric told Tanjug that the Diaspora should vote in the referendum as the new Constitution prescribes that the state must pay special care of its citizens abroad.
Citizens living abroad will be able to vote in polling stations in diplomatic and consular representative offices on October 28 and 29 from 7 am to 24 pm, Cotric said.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has already started informing representative offices in cities with at least 100 registered voters, as prescribed by the Electoral Law, said Cotric adding that even if the number of registered voters is below 100, the Ministry for Diaspora will demand that the referendum is organised nonetheless.
Citizens living abroad should apply in Serbian representative offices by October 7 so that the Serbian Electoral Commission could complete the voter registration lists by October 12.
