At the opening ceremony of the second international fair of energy and the fair of environmental protection, Naumov announced that the tender for a strategic partner to construct a 700 megawatt thermoelectric power-plant Kolubara B will be announced shortly, adding that 16 large companies are interested in this project.
According to Naumov, the investment of the strategic partner in Kolubara B will represent the first participation of private capital in EPS.
Naumov stressed that the Serbian energy sector has reformed and now has a new legal and institutional framework and that preparations are underway to open and develop the energy market, adding that in the upcoming period the implemented reforms will be enforced.
Director of the Environmental Protection Directorate at the Ministry of Science and Environmental Protection Miroslav Nikcevic said that Serbia has become aware of the importance of environmental protection which is confirmed by the large number of participants in the fair.
He recalled that as part of the National Investment Plan, the Environmental Protection Directorate received €20 million that will mostly be used to develop and improve recycling in Serbia.
The energy and environmental fairs will last until October 6. Over 80 domestic and foreign exhibitors dealing with electric energy, natural gas and oil, mining and renewable energy sources will be presented.
