Serbian Minister of Capital Investment Velimir Ilic opened yesterday in Cacak a state-of-the-art health centre for rail workers in Cacak, marking the 120th anniversary of the Centre for Health Protection of Rail Workers.
Ilic announced that €140 million will be invested in rail infrastructure and vehicles of rail operator Zeleznice Srbije in 2007.
The government marked investments as priority as it is one of the ways to keep track with the world, Ilic said noting that a modern railway and road corridors are Serbia’s entrance ticket for the EU.
Zeleznice Srbije General Director Milanko Sarancic said that Serbia will soon have faster and safer railways thanks to government’s support, adding that the health care of rail workers in on a high level as around 7,000 checkups are done in the Cacak health centre per year.
