Zivkov, who is heading the
Serbian delegation on a visit to the UK, told Beta that over the next two years that experts from this laboratory will help Serbia to form a national laboratory for protection of plants and animals.
The Minister said that the laboratory whose work should start by the end of the year has already been built in Batajnica.
The visit to the UK Rural Payments Agency was very important for the Serbian delegation as Serbia plans to form a Rural Payments Administration soon, Zivkov said and noted that experts from the UK offered their assistance.
He explained that such an agency is necessary on the country’s path toward EU integration.
Zivkov announced that the delegation will visit Northern Ireland tomorrow at the invitation of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.
According to Zivkov, the UK is interested in importing Serbian “baby beef”, fruit and vegetables. He also noted that export opportunities for live sheep, goats, cows and heifers from the UK to Serbia was also discussed.
The Serbian Ministry of Agriculture was also invited to participate in the food fair in London, the Minister said and added that this will be the first presentation of Serbia in this fair.
