Serbian Minister of Health Tomica Milosavljevic and Ministry's State Secretary Nevena Karanovic attended today the laying of a corner stone of the new centre for dialysis in Leskovac, whose construction is financed from the National Investment Plan and the European Investment Bank (EIB).
Milosavljevic said that the Leskovac health centre is one of 20 health institutions in Serbia involved in the project of urgent reconstruction and added that the new facility will cost €6.5 million.
The centre for dialysis should be completed by the end of 2007 or in early 2008 and will be equipped with 24 sets for dialysis, said the Minister.
Director of the Leskovac health centre Miomir Stojanovic said that this centre will form an intensive care ward and announced the reconstruction of psychiatry, infective and some other wards. He also announced new equipment for surgery halls.
Milosavljevic and Karanovic also visited the health centres in the village of Brestovac near Leskovac and in Predejane, after which they attended the opening of the Centre for Preventive Health Care in Leskovac.
