After meeting presidents of eleven municipalities of Southern Backa and Novi Sad Mayor Maja Gojkovic, Loncar told a press conference that the funds will primarily be used for infrastructure projects.
He stressed that apart from construction of utilities and roads, the funds will be used for building industrial zones, reconstruction of sports facilities and construction of sports halls as well as IT equipment for schools.
According to Loncar, Novi Sad will get €40 million, Bac €1.5 million, Backa Palanka €2.57 million, Backi Petrovac €2.8 million, Beocin €653,000, Becej €6.58 million, Vrbas €2.79 million and Zabalj €1.18 million.
Titel will get €1.93 million, Srbobran €1.26 million, Temerin €1.69 million and Sremski Karlovci €722,000, the Minister added.
He also noted that 410 flats worth €19 million will be built for civil servants in Novi Sad whereas the reconstruction of the Sremska Kamenica health institute will cost €7.5 million.
The Minister also mentioned the construction of new buildings of the Sremska Kamenica police academy and the Novi Sad Tax Administration as well as finding a solution for the court of appeals building..
The projects should be finished by the end of 2006, and completely finalised by the end of 2007, the Minister noted.
