Milosavljevic told a press conference on his visit to the Gornji Milanovac health centre that by the end of 2007, works on reconstruction of neurology department will be finished, and recalled that in 2004, three million dinars was invested in equipment for health institutions in Gornji Milanovac.
The Minister also said that the Ministry’s priority include an upgrade of public health and primary health protection and noted that health centres should be in charge of local authorities.
A total of €330 million will be invested in the Serbian health sector by 2011 from loans granted by the European Investment Bank and from funds of the National Investment Plan, he said and added that Serbian hospitals and health centres will reach European standards, but people’s awareness also needs to be changed.
Milosavljevic announced that the Serbian Medical Chamber will hold a meeting on September 26 when ten best hospitals and health centres in Serbia will be pronounced.
He added that the Ministry together with health centres in Serbia will mark the World Heart Day on Sunday, September 24, under the slogan “How young is your heart”.
