At the opening of the "Power Plants 2006" symposium taking place in Vrnjacka Banja, Naumov recalled that the Serbian Energy Agency adopted a range of methodologies to regulate the way of determining the prices of electric energy and natural gas, adding that only the Agency has the authority to say which price is justifiable and which is not.
Naumov stressed that the process of essential legislative, institutional and structural reforms in the energy sector is drawing to a close and added that it now remains to put these reforms into practice.
The "Power Plants 2006" symposium gathered over 300 experts from Serbia, countries from the region and the EU.
The main themes of the four-day meeting will be energy sources and sustainable development, liberalisation of electric power market, rational operation of power plants, questions concerning power plants life cycle extension, introduction of new technologies and equipment.
The organiser of the symposium is the Society of Thermal Engineers. It is taking place under the auspices of the Ministry of Energy and Mining, Ministry of Science and Environmental Protection and power supplier Elektroprivreda Srbije (EPS).
