The Minister said that students at the school who are learning English as a compulsory second language will also be able to learn another language of their choice, namely German or Russian.
He recalled that a pilot project was introduced in the school this year themed "Open and Creative School with Three Foreign Languages" composed by the school's foreign language teachers and the Ministry of Education and Sport.
According to Vuksanovic, these three languages will be taught at the school, as well as the cultures and literatures of these three peoples.
He also proposed that the school should begin cooperation with the Goethe Institute, the British Council and the Russian cultural centre Ruski Dom, which could later be extended to include excursions and visits to these countries, as well as professional cooperation.
Bearing in mind the difficult state of the school's facilities, the Minister promised that a new school gym will be finished by next winter.
Arne Hartig, Culture Attaché at the German embassy in Belgrade, said he is pleased that students and parents have demanded that German be taught at this school adding that German is used by over 100 million people and that there are around 650 teachers of German in Serbia.
The presentation was also attended by Director of the British Council in Serbia Nevenka Aleksic and Russian Ambassador to Belgrade Alexander Alekseev who presented the school with several books that can be used while teaching Russian to children.
