President of the National Council for Cooperation with the ICTY Rasim Ljajic met today with US Ambassador-at-Large for War Crimes Issues John Clint Williamson and discussed implementation of the Action Plan for the arrest and extradition of all Hague suspects and Ratko Mladic in particular.
Ljajic informed Williamson on measures taken to fulfill international obligations and repeated the Serbian government’s resolve to end the cooperation with the tribunal in The Hague as it is in the best interest of Serbia and its citizens.
Williamson informed Ljajic on talks he had in The Hague with tribunal representatives and pointed out that the US administration wants the Action Plan to be implemented as soon as possible as it is precondition for continuation of EU talks as well as for other Euro-Atlantic integrations.
Ljajic and Williamson agreed that the cooperation of security services of the countries in the region is of great importance for the arrest of Hague suspects.
