Several dozens of citizens had an opportunity to visit the most interesting rooms of this building with the help of a guide, thus becoming the first "delegation of ordinary people" in the building's history.
Visitors were first taken to the press conference hall where they were briefed about the protocol for holding press conferences, and then into the hall in which the Serbian government's sessions are held.
This was followed by a visit to the "history hall" where the pictures of all prime ministers are exhibited. The visitors found out on this occasion that priest Mateja Nenadovic was the first Serbian prime minister, while Nikola Pasic held that position as many as seven times.
The Serbian government building was made after the design of architect Nikola Krasnov, from 1926 to 1928, when the then ministry of finance was moved there. It was built with "artificial rock", and it got its appearance of today in 1938, when two more floors were added.
This building suffered serious damage during the NATO bombing in 1999.
