Vuksanovic said that thanks to the memorandum, two secondary and one primary school will get computer equipment worth $140,000.
The schools that will receive a donation are primary school “Radomir Markovic” in Krusevac, catering and tourism secondary school in Belgrade and technical school in Odzaci.
Korea supported Serbian educational institutions with $340,000 in the past few years, Vuksanovic recalled and noted that Belgrade University’s Rectorate received conference hall equipment recently whereas the Faculty of Political Sciences got a translation laboratory worth $50,000.
Vuksanovic added that in cooperation with the Serbian Ministry of Education and Sport, Korea provided computer equipment for two secondary schools and six schools for children with special needs, worth $100,000.
He underlined that with the mediation of the Association of Serbian-Korean friendship, 23 elementary and secondary schools were donated computer equipment, while last year the same equipment, worth $50,000 was given to another six schools in the Srbobran municipality.
Young-Hee recalled that since 2002, Korea has given Serbia $1.4 million through donations, of which $400,000 has been set aside for education.
She pointed out that in this way Korea wants to contribute to the strengthening of friendly ties with Serbia and stressed that helping the young, who are Serbia's future and its national treasure, is a cornerstone for the development of relations between the two countries.
