Bubalo said that like last year, when Serbia was leader in reforms, the country continues to reduce expenses, time and red tape for doing business, this is confirmed by its 68th position which is 24 places higher than last year.
He also said that according to the World Bank Report, Serbia improved conditions in two categories of business. According to the number of places it has gone ahead in relation to last year, Serbia is the second most successful country, right after Georgia.
Bubalo said that Serbia has made the greatest progress in relation to other former Yugoslav republics as well, which is very important because it is a proof that Serbia is becoming more and more competitive for attracting foreign investments in relation to other countries from the region.
It is important to underline that the results of Serbian government's economic reforms are seen in the analyses of international economic institutions and in the country's economic growth which will most probably exceed 7% this year, as well as in industrial production growth, which is a basis of the exports achieved in past two months, which is at the highest level in last 10 years, Bubalo pointed out.
The Minister of Economy highlighted that it is important that Serbia keep this course of economic policy, continue with reforms, successfully complete the privatisation process in 2007 and intensify structural reforms in the public sector, which will help make Serbia's economy even stronger and more efficient, and directly reflect on living standards of all citizens next year.
