Srdjan Djuric
Djuric told Beta news agency that if the statement by Ahtisaari's spokesman that he had been interpreted wrongly is an attempt to give some kind of an apology, then that could be a good first step in the right direction, while the second step could be Ahtisaari's loud and clear apology.
According to Djuric, it is obvious that Ahtisaari said more than he intended to say and revealed more than he wanted.
Namely, his statement that the Serbs are guilty as a nation is the greatest and saddest contribution to the language of hate given by an international community representative, Djuric said.
However, the truth is that Ahtisaari is not original. Before him, the same things were said - and not only said - about Serbs, Jews and Roma by all ideologists of chauvinism and racial hatred, Djuric stated and concluded that therefore it is no wonder that his statement has awoken the most horrible memories and stirred the public so much.
Unfortunately, that statement was not taken out of context, as the special envoy's spokesman tried to make it appear because Ahtisaari said all that word by word in front of the entire negotiation team. We want to believe that this statement did not come from the international envoy's subconscious, the Director of the Office of Media Relations said.
