Radomir Naumov
In a statement to the Tanjug news agency, Naumov pointed out that such manner of privatisation would be wrong, both for refineries and the entire system of the Serbian Oil Industry (NIS).
“The reasons for which we think privatisation should envelop the whole of the national oil industry, and not just one portion of it, have been presented to the IMF in 14 points”, the minister explained.
“Regardless of this much talked about letter, we have already sent the Serbian government a proposal to appoint a privatisation advisor completely in line with the IMF’s viewpoint”, Naumov added.
Thus stressing the fact that the Energy and Mining Ministry has met the deadline and submitted for adoption all the required documentation, Naumov said that engaging an international, competent and independent privatisation advisor will result in concrete actions in the NIS privatisation process.
“We expect the government to pass a decision to call a public tender for a privatisation advisor on its next session on August 18”, the minister concluded.
