Ilic asked the contractors, who are currently putting up 95 prefab houses, to speed up the construction process. The contractor is SPIK Ivanjica with a consortium comprising four companies.
The houses should be ready for moving in by mid-November. According to the construction plan there will be 49 houses of 60 square metres, 13 of 80 square metres and 33 houses of approximately 100 square metres.
A Zrenjanin-based company Banat has so far built 20 out of the projected 56 houses in Utrine, a part of the Jasa Tomic village.
The second construction site is in the village centre, where four blocks of flats will be built with 16 flats. The fifth block of flats, due to be completed before winter sets in, is a donation from the city of Belgrade.
As was agreed with the Ministry of Capital Investments, the Univerzal company from Belgrade will build 85 houses, and provide construction material for 288 damaged houses, and the Commissariat for Refugees will provide eight houses for displaced families.
