Assistant Minister of Capital Investments Borislav Borovic told the press that the new agreement will liberalise non-scheduled passenger traffic and bring order to the existing scheduled lines between Serbia-Montenegro and Austria.
Borovic said that another signing of the agreement should take place at the year’s end, the Beta agency reports.
“We have proposed that the VAT should be mutually abolished to make Serbian companies more competitive in the market”, Borovic said adding that legislative bodies will try to deal with illegal passenger transport.
The representatives also agreed that grey economy, especially concerning the illegal transport of passengers in vans, should be dealt with through regulatory measures.
This illegal transport jeopardises the safety of passengers, and prevents both countries from collecting taxes, Borovic concluded.
