Labus pointed out that the factory ‘Kolbis’, whose owners are the Kobiljski family, has a certificate confirming that very high standards are being respected during the whole meat production process.
The Serbian Deputy Prime Minister stated that there are numerous meat manufacturers in Serbia that could obtain this certificate of quality. “I would like to take this opportunity and encourage them to send a request to the authorities, since the Serbian government covers 80 percent of the certificate’s cost, and the owner pays only one-fifth of the cost,” recommended Labus.
According to him, the five largest slaughterhouses in the country have applied for receiving export numbers, which would enable them to freely find a market for goods in EU countries.
Labus recalled that duties for meat export and manufactured products do not exist on EU territory, but that export is not possible without technical preconditions, and those are the HACCP Certificate and the export number. He pointed out that the Serbian government will provide assistance to manufacturers and added that it is then their duty to find their place on the market.
