Parivodic stated, addressing the businessmen at the meeting of the Belgrade Chamber of Commerce board of directors, that good strategic partners will modernise technology, induce production, employ more in the work force, and that these strategic partners will improve living conditions.
Speaking about the industry development climate of Belgrade and Serbia, he stated that the Ministry of International Economic Relations has drawn a Draft Law on Foreign Trade Transactions, which was approved by the Serbian government, and whose implementation will bring businessmen certain benefits.
According to him, this law envisages the freedom of transfer of ownership of dutied goods, the freedom of investment, some safety measures and less licensing.
With the aim of attracting investors, the question of ownership relations should be solved, and fees for the use of construction land should be decreased, which, when compared to neighbouring countries is high, stated Parivodic. He added that the price of a square metre of land in Belgrade’s first zone is €450, whereas the price in Prague is €200, and in Ljubljana €100.
He stated that all the construction land that is not state-owned must be privatised, which will contribute the attracting of foreign investors who will buy this land, and have a clear ownership status.
Recalling that Serbia has a problem with its courts, Parivodic stated that the Ministry of International Relations has drawn up the Draft Law on Arbitration, which envisages the existence of arbitration courts in Belgrade, Kragujevac, and Nis. The process of solving the property status will therefore be more efficient and will no longer last three years.
