Jocic assessed that the construction of the Interior Ministry’s DNA laboratory, which is to begin in early 2006, will enable the Serbian police to function in accordance with EU standards and give police the ability to detect perpetrators through biological clues.
Siquier stressed that with this donation Spain wishes to express its desire to cooperate with the Serbian government in fighting terrorism and organised crime, especially with the Serbian Ministry of Interior.
The Spanish Ambassador said that Spain has recently suffered a number of terrorist attacks and reiterated that fighting terrorism is a joint task and its success requires the use of all means available.
